Inspired by the closeness and chaos of family, whether that family is connected by blood or created through love. 

Four bluejays gather together, their bodies overlapping and weaving with a level of comfortability that comes from a deep connection. Existing in each other's space can sometimes be supportive, sometimes, chaotic, but ultimately stitched together. 

Bluejays felt a fitting subject as they are quite social and vocal birds. Each has its own individual presence while the group morphs into something larger than the individual when combined together.

Every bird has its own distinctive embroidery stitched by hand with layered textiles creating the bluejay's characteristic pattern and texture of feathers.
